Another one

welcome to the Louvre!

Actually this is part of the Louvre, but the whole museum is mostly underground, and we do have the image of the glass triangle as the museum itself, wait i'll get to that soon!

next stop was the Louvre, on the way i saw this statue somewhere found it interesting.

And so ends our Effiel tour, i'll show you some night photos from the tower later.

I just like this picture

And one to karachi

Check it out, they had the distance from the tower to the respective capitals!

Another one from the top.

Now this is part where i started to feel dizzy, number one the whole freakin elevator was glass, and the freakin tower was too tall, freakin hieght phobia :S

You want to see how big the line was? well thats half of it! it went on an on forever!

Yeah have a look! top floor closed! god damnit after like 3 hours in the line this is what they tell me, well im not leaving without getting to the top!

I had to wait in line for so long i got so hungry, then i was like i wa i want a bugette the traditional french thing, and i paid 5 euros for a bread with chesse, sacre e bleu!!

look at the freakin lines!

another one

check this one out!

another one!

some more!

oh wait before we go up again, here are some more from the outside!

Go up Ze elevator!

Im in the lift finally after waiting like 3 hours in the line! Freakin lines everywhere, by the time we reached the ticket counter, they told us the top portion was closed cause there were too many people, so we had to go to the second floor, where we waited until the top floor became open again.

And heres the dude who came up with the whole Effiel thing, actually the tower was made for a technical fair, people liked it so much they decided to keep it forever and and ever and ever!

They had some weird glass thing with peace written on it in different languages, you can see "Aman" near on the top!

It was windy! :S

Under the Effiel

Dont remember what that was.

More Effiel

Next up the Effiel tower!! Finally!! Its really big :P

random photos

random photos

paris in itself is a very beautiful city, as u turn in every direction you see something even more breathtaking, but the art of being a tourist is not only to look at the majestic, but do go into the alleys and the corridors and defining a city yourself, and not basing it on what Lonely Planet says.

more random stuff

random stuff from paris

some more..

more from the outside

My friend went inside, and these are some of the photos from her camera.

Its funny as everywhere i go i see churches being repaired.

the fallen angel

They really do decorate the churches a lot, most of the sculptures are never repeated.

I didn't go in here, the ticket was too expensive :(

the church inside the courts, the museum inside has some strange stuff.

more waiting at the line

near the court was the famous sainte chapelle, following our some of the pictures from inside and outside.

first few glimpses of paris!

we were finally entering paris and i saw the famous world cup stadium were the french trashed the brazilains! :(

let them eat cake. i mean man comeon french people give us a break, a freakin crossiant for 1.30 euro, thats like a hundred rupees, wasn't this one of the reasons of the french revolution?

people warned that the first thing i would see in france would be lines, lines to freakin everything. And they were right, man i mean i had to wait in the que for 30 mins just to get breakfast!

thats my bus, looked old, but the bus driver kept telling us that it was brand new. I seriously doubt that.

A picture outside the terminal, lots of nice looking cars, i was actually trying to pull out my camera cause a lamborghini was parked, but as soon as i had my camera out it vanished.

thats me sitting next the bus terminal waiting for it to come, u can see the pak flag in the back!

Ola again! So another, this time huge update to the website, usually for any given trip, i have at most two to three hundred photos. But this time, i have around 1900 and it took me a long long time to sort through them to try to find a few good ones to put on the blog. So this time its the paris trip. First off we start with the train from darmstadt to frankfurt, from where i had to take the bus to paris.

Saturday, June 10, 2006

oh yeah and just one day i decided to go to frankfurt and had my picture taken next to the frankfurt opera house.

yep so ends our skiing trip, tired kaputt exhausted, i was sleeping in the train as u can see from the picture.

some hot blonde chick with a snow board, u go girl!

thats me bowing to the mighty ski gods to forgive me for my sins, and help me get down mount death in one piece...amen

Thats the only way i could stand and not hurt something!! :P

more poses, claudia schiffer eat ur heart out!

it took me a while to learn to manuver a bit, in the end i still didn't manage to learn how to stop, so if u see that tree in the middle, thats my "stop"... in other words, the tree helped me stop.

thats us in confusion, as to where the toilets were...??

Diego en route was experimenting with his choice of sport wear, and he ended up looking like a middleaged truck driver.

And here we are back on the railway station to head back to darmstadt!!

Whats a parade without floats? They were throwing out loads of sweets, i just managed to catch a packet of popcorn, just my luck, even in handouts i get salt.

Football songs 4 months before the world cup tsk tsk.

a hunting we will go, a hunting we will go, oh.. something something ... a hunting we will go!!!

Pirates? what do u call female pirates?

papa smurfs a bit big isn't he?

oh wicked witch of the east, where to?

City of Mainz, the main parade street!

Next up was a trip with my two korean friends to Mainz, its a city near us, and every year they have a big carnival, everyone dresses up stupid as much as possible. And then they go crazy on the streets. I think its beacuse of the fact that germans are usualy very calm and composed the entire year so they have one day planned in the year to litter the streets break street lamps and throw bon bons at each other. cool.

Dont mess with me, I am ze bad boy!

Diego and Fray two of my columbian friends.

Chicko and his chocalate factory!

Current LC Darmstadt president and sex bumb hissam!

Heres a picture with some lc members and the trainees.

And then comes the blow!! BAM right in the head! It was soo nice while it lasted.. :(

And then what happens is that we find out the true nature of our neighbours and have our guns ready!! See???

You know how you say oh there peace between india and pakistan now, blah blah!! no way!! Check out these three picture, so u see in this picture, we're like "happy happy yip yip peace peace". wait na!! next picture!

agent 00-sexy

i want one million dollar!!! mini me bring my cola!

Next comes the aiesec 007 party!! So we have Ibrahim to the right(@ afghanistan), shimoni (@ india), elsa (@ belgium). The object was the be as 007 as possible, i was more like a terrorist! muhahah

and ofcourse niki and i! no champagne though only cola :P for me that is.

a view of the rivers edge!

more!

some more!

So as it was night and the cameras weren't really that good, so most of the pictures came of fuzzy. But i'll still put them up. Everyone was trying to get onto the bridges, there are like 5 main bridges in frankfurt and the ideal thing on new years was to be on one of them! And we did manage to reach to the middle of one, here are the few pictures.

someone was REALLY going to enjoy the new year! limo baby!

here we are next to a chirtmas tree in frankfurt!

Now all bulgarian parties need to have this otherwise it wont be a party, its called a banitsa, it delicious! pata hai yeah kiya hai? cheese toast! :P

So before we went off to frankfurt i was with three of my bulgarian friends, here their singing the national anthem, why? i dunno.

Next hop was the new year, some of us planned a little gathering before, some food and drinks. Later we all hopped onto the trains and made our way to frankfurt to celebrate the new year... in style!!

some of his clothes!

his guitar!

thats the first dollar that elvis earned, as he himself put it "his way out".

something he once wrote in autograph book, why he would write that, i dunno.

This was cool! I heard from someone that when elvis was sent to fight the war, his regiment was sent to darmstadt, so he was in this very city!! And i dunno why but every year they have an elvis "celebration" week. Mostly just a collection of his stuff displayed at the mall. But still cool, this was the last cadillac he owned!

chirtmas candy shopping!! yayyy!!

some sort of religious thing, i guess

Darmstadt the night before christmas

platform nine and three quarters

the bahnhof aka railway station

the administrative offices at the uni

the opera house

the "landesmuseum" or city museum

some guy on a horse..

the city library.

check this out, you can see the two local transports in the city, in the same picture, the bus, which is called "bus" and the tram which is called the "straenbahn". figure out what "" is :P

the biggest mall in the city, real nice place to hang out. unfortunatley never have the time nor the money.

heres a picture of the only thing that was left standing after the allied forces had their way, now a museum.

now what about a few pictures from the city now?? heres a picture of the city center, its a university city so u'll get to see a lot a bikes.

and its me again in front of the main building, that pose i'm currently in was not intended by the picture caught the true spirit of freezing innards.

I dont have much pictures from the uni the ones that i wanted to put up went to the great hard disk in the sky, when it went kaputt. Now i'm left with just two pictures, this is me inside the halls of learning :P

yep and from this picture u can see my room!! yayyy!! its the second one above the green/blue/yellow car/minivan or for accessability its the one with the big balck arrow next to it !!

i dunno what all those things are for, if they are meant for receiving tv channels then they were a complete waste of money, why? cause german televison is like ptv

the city itself is very small, it based around two big universities, so the city also follows the same semester system, the point being there aren't many tall buildings in darmstadt, and i've heard that my building has the tallest elevation, whatever that means.

now how about a few pictures from the outside?? yeah so the buidling u see in the lime green and purple is the one i live in. picture was taken from diegos room, who refused to go out of his room beacuse of the snow, mostly beacuse it doesn't snow in columbia.. i think :P

thats the other part of my room, a monitor, 90% of the worlds population can probably tell which program is running at the moment, and next to that is my wall of postcards! and my beloved starcraft poster :D

yeah thats me in the living room, next to my darling Claudia schiffer!! no comments on this post please.

ze room now! yeah i know looks shabby but comon what do u expect from student rooms?Chandelliers??

those are the stairs leading up to my room, thats and old picture though, now i have a super huge wallace and gromit poster on my door!

thats my living room, a few couches a tv, windows, poster, whoi the usual.

this is what my apartment looks from outside, i mean i would hope that the germans would have better colour sense, but purple and lime green for a building??

As you see from the low quality picture, thats my dining room, some food, a few chairs and a table, all very usefull for dining in a dining room. I should mention that the dining room, is also connected to the kitchen, to the front door, and to the drawing room, thus giving it a very roomy feeling.

updates ..... finallyy!!!

Okay so i know i've been lazy in putting up pictures, but i really had genuine reasons!! at first i was just lazy (reason 1) and then t-online cut off my internet for 4 months (big reason 2), now i still dont have internet or a phone for that matter, but hopes are high and the computer lab is always open :P so here comes a huge update! enjoy!!

So i'll start off with a few pictures from my apartment, a few from the uni and then the city (Darmstadt), and please be warned this time i dont have good quality pictures, mostly beacuse i didn't quite understand the camera, new camera new issues, i mean how hard is it for my friends to buy better, easier cameras?? :P

Wednesday, September 28, 2005

Later dude!

Yep so this is the end of my journey, this time i didn't have much to write about, maybe next time i would have more. This city St Goar was having a mini october fest and this sign was directing everyone to the beer. Hope u enjoyed yourselves. Me out now. later!

Lego

Heres a picture from the top of the castle, its funny how to me everything looks like lego..

Defence tunnels

Under the castle were defence tunnels, small cramped spaces for people to hide if anything goes wrong. We had to take tourches with us, in some places we even had to crawl. It was an awesome experince.

End of the castle..

End of castle pictures!

Some More

some more.

Castle

Some pictures of the castle. Dont know much about it but heard that when the french army came to take over the castle no one put up a fight and the king was having lunch, then the french tore the castle down. a few more pictures follow.

Random

One view when we reached halfway, germany has a cool countryside with loads of sloping hills small cottage houses, rivers, cozy little small towns, all very lego like! muhahah!

Uphills' a killer!

So we finally got off at St Goar, where we were supposed to go see a castle, and had to walk like 30 mins uphill, so this is us huffin and puffin away!

Urdu!

You know i've found out that the biggest link between different cultures is actually the language. Link meaning interaction, i've made so many freinds just by having the knowledge of urdu. How? Cuase everyone gets fasicinated that we write from the other side. Here in this picture i tried my best to write the names of two of the brasilians in urdu. My urdu is getting pretty weak. And then at a party, i remember, they put on punjabi mc and everyone started shaking (dancing, thats what they do, they dance less and shake more), and well i told them that they were doing it all wrong, showed them the punjabi mc moves! all thanx to yasir with his endless training sessions for the wedding! now thats the way to do it... ahan ahan...i like it... ahan ahan..

Brasileños están locos

Some of my friends from Brazil, Gustavo, Silvio, Francin-e, Antonio e Paulo, the braizilians are cool! The dig mushraff! They tell me their president and mushi really hang out a lot, their papers had pictures of parties with drinks and lods of dancing! mushi bara playboy nikla!

Cold too cold..

Thats us sitting on the ferry, my ears were freezing, i even had gloves on! And all these german running around in t-shirts! i bet its the beer!

A Princess and her chainsaw..

Well theres another funny story about this picture. Our tour guide told us that a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, there was this fair maiden who lived in this castle, and she couldn't have her man, so she jumped from the tower into the river. Where till now u can still hear her singing, he added that this particular place has had the most ship wrecks in germanys history, and the story is that the singing of the maiden lures the sailors to their eventual doom! muhahaha! all soo deliciously evil!

Ferry me now..

This is our boat the 'Asbach', it was funny to find that the upper deck was full of Asians (and no i don't mean south-asians). And thus the tour guide had to speak in english, german, and chienese! I got to see a lot of cool castles and hear a lot of strange stories from the tour guide (most of them i dont remember) but it was worth the 6 euros. Man some of the cameras these tourits had on the boat! I mean was drolling like crazy!

Yo bago touyo!

Thats me in white with SOME of the bulgarians, except for the guy sitting, hes columbian. He speaks spanish, and well i can only say "areeba, areeba, andalay, andalay" (curtousy Speedy Gonzales). That guy took me to a mexican restaurant only for beer (i stuck to pepsi) and told me to get up and scream "yo bago touyu" waving ur hand in a weird cricle, and then the waiter handed me the check. My columbian friends were in fits, i had just scremed "i'm paying for everyone!", god heart attack honay wala tha!

Demonic leeches!

If u have a look at the picture below this one, u will see something on top of the mountain in the background, thats this statue. The story behind it is that an archbishop was dictating this land, and the people were really annoyed with him. One of his disciples decided to do something and he prayed with the people of the land until a huge hoard of leeches came and drove him into the sea, where eventually the leeches gobbled him up. And this statue is dedicated to that disciple. (don't ask me.. ask my tour guide!)
